Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) issued the following statement after four presumptive positive COVID-19 cases were confirmed in New Mexico:

“The latest news is cause for concern and continued collective action—we can best avoid future cases by remaining calm and continuing to take preventative measures to keep our families safe and healthy. I will continue to work with Tribal, state, and federal leaders to coordinate our response to this latest public health threat. It’s why I voted last week to pass emergency supplemental funding for coronavirus prevention, preparedness, and response efforts and I will continue to urge all New Mexicans to follow the guidance of the New Mexico Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and stay healthy.”
