U.S. Chamber of Commerce legislative scorecard recognizes Torres Small as most bipartisan member of NM delegation

Washington, D.C. – This week, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce recognized Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) for her pro-economic growth stances with the “Spirit of Enterprise” Award. The Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to Members of Congress based on rankings the U.S. Chamber of Commerce gives for key pro-free enterprise, pro-economic growth, and pro-jobs votes. In addition to the national distinction, Torres Small also ranked as the most bipartisan member of the New Mexico congressional delegation according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s latest legislative scorecard for the 116th Congress.

“As small businesses across New Mexico work hard to keep themselves afloat and take care of their employees, it is critical Congress continues to work together to move our country and economy forward. These last few months have clearly illustrated how much we depend on mom and pop shops to purchase goods and services close to home. I remain committed to expanding economic opportunity to rural and remote communities across my district,” said Torres Small.

“In these uncertain times with daunting economic and social challenges facing our nation, it is imperative that leaders in Washington are focused on propelling American businesses forward to create jobs and economic growth from California to Maine,” said Thomas J. Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “As we rebuild our economy, legislators must lead by pursuing bipartisan solutions that create jobs and promote a free enterprise system. I’m proud to recognize these 259 Members of Congress for their commitment to driving opportunity and prosperity in America’s workforce and on Main Streets across the nation.”
