Torres Small Encourages Virtual Participation in Public Meeting for Proposed Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage Facility in Carlsbad

Las Cruces, NM –Today, Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM) issued the following public notice to solicit community feedback as part of an environmental impact evaluation of Holtec International’s proposed HI-STORE Consolidated Interim Storage Facility for spent nuclear fuel. During the public meeting, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will present the result of the draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) of the Holtec HI-STORE Consolidated Interim Storage Facility and hear comments from community members.

The public meeting will take place virtually on June 23, 2020 from 3:00pm - 7pm MT. Those interested in leaving a public comment are asked to pre-register before June 22, 2020 by emailing Ms. Antoinette Walker-Smith (Antoinette.Walker-Smith@nrc.gov).
