Washington, DC–Yesterday, the House Homeland Security Committee passed Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM-02) and Rep. Debbie Lesko’s (R-AZ-08) and recently introduced bill, H.R. 5828—DHS Illicit Border Tunnel Defense Act, which authorizes funding for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to remediate illicit, cross-border tunnels and directs CBP to create a strategic plan to improve and expand upon tunnel interdiction operations at the southern border.
Washington, DC – Today, the House Homeland Security Committee moved forward legislation to invest in federal law enforcement training introduced by Congresswoman Xochitl Torres Small (NM-02) and recommended the bill for consideration before the full House of Representatives.
